  • Applications for the summer are due by April 30. Applications for the September to June period are due by May 31. Additional time requested throughout the school year should be submitted a minimum of three weeks in advance. During September and October the permit office is very busy and any additional requests should be submitted six weeks in advance.
  • All groups who are granted a Permit to use TDSB facilities must have liability insurance naming the TDSB as "additional insured".    A copy of the Insurance Certificate is to be submitted upon receipt of the "tentative permit".   Groups that do not carry liability insurance have the opportunity to purchase liability insurance at a reasonable cost through the TDSB Blanket Insurance based on the User Group Policy and Rating Schedule provided by All Sport Insurance Marketing Limited.  The cost of the liability insurance will be added to the Permit Rental Contract.   If you require insurance, please tick the appropriate box on the application form.
  • Once your application form has been processed you will receive a "tentative permit” which will set out the permit hours and the associated permit fees and monthly payment due dates. In order to finalize your permit, you must submit post dated cheques as well as a signed copy of the pool agreement to the Facilities Permit Unit. The pool agreement link is: http://www.tdsb.on.ca/wwwdocuments/about_us/tlc/docs/Pool_%20Agreement.pdf
  • Once a copy of the pool agreement and payment have been received, you will received a finalized permit.

Please note that the pool agreement requires that all pool operators comply with Ontario Regulation 565.  This is a regulation under the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act. It sets out the rules and regulations concerning the operation and safety of public pools, including regulations concerning the operation of the pool and the number of qualified lifeguards that must be on deck at all times. All permit holders should be familiar with these regulations. The link to Ontario Regulation 565 is: http://www.elaws.gov.on.ca/html/regs/english/elaws_regs_900565_e.htm
