FEBRUARY IS HEART MONTH IN THE HEART OF TORONTO!

FEBRUARY 14, 2009 | NATHAN PHILLIPS SQUARE

11:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

February is Heart Month and The Heart and Stroke Foundation and the City of Toronto invite you to a Valentine’s Day with more heart than you can imagine!

Help us celebrate the hearts and health of our kids and families – and participate in an experience that we hope may just leave you feeling like a kid again! We’ll show you how to get your heart racing in fun and physical activities, and learn how to fuel it through healthy food choices – two of the most important things any kid – young or old - can do for their heart.

Dress warm, bring your loved ones and get ready to play for a day that will warm your heart. (Skates are great but not required.) There’s lots of free entertainment.

  • Skate and play to the great tunes of River Seven, a Toronto band with lots of heart.

  • Join in our interactive events, meet the mayor, run a snow relay race, skate with  friends and family, or be a part of the longest Toronto bunny hop! – whatever you do – let’s do it together and have some fun.

  • Speak from the Heart and be counted!  Visit our ticker board and add your number to show your support for a heart healthy Toronto.

  • Head indoors at the Toronto Eaton Centre for a series of events ranging from Tai Chi and Yoga demonstrations to a free blood pressure clinic and Valentine’s day gift wrapping service.
